Homestyle Macaroni Salad


Homestyle Macaroni Salad
8 to 12 servings

2 cups macaroni
1 red bell pepper, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
1/2 red onion, diced
1/2 cup mayonaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons mustard
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Cook macaroni according to package directions; rinse under cool water.
To macaroni add bell pepper, celery, and onion.
Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, mustard, sugar, salt and pepper.
Pour dressing over salad and mix thoroughly.
Chill before serving.
Enjoy!

  3. I have a similar recipe that was given to me by my MIL that we love. Doesn't have the sour cream. I'll have to give yours a try for a change. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  5. This recipe was absolutely perfect as presented. Nothing fancy - just plain old yummy, better-than-store-bought, macaroni salad. I didn't have elbow macaroni and substituted 2 cups of small shells, which made me end up with extra dressing. So I added about about a cup of frozen peas, and some broccoli, which upped the nutritional/fiber content, I guess. Really, the base recipe is so great, you could add anything, I suppose! Thanks for putting this out there!
