With nearly a 100 percent chance of rain in the forecast, I decided it sounded like a good day to do a little fall nesting! And, I could join in The Inspired Room's 3rd Annual Fall Nesting Party. This year I'm nesting in a new-t0-me home. Such fun to decide were to put things!
I started the morning with some fall flavored coffee of course. :-)
~Dunkin' Donuts Cinnamon Spice~
I finished up my ~Autumn Wreath~ candle last year.
So I purchased Yankee Candle's fragrance of the month for September,
~Autumn Leaves~.
With the rain on the roof, my new candle burning,
and plenty of coffee in my cup,
I emptied the hutch of it's summertime contents.
I replaced the Phaltzgraf dishes and ice cream parfait glasses...
...with the wonderful colors of autumn.
I got out all my favorite fall cookbooks.
Each one is filled with yummy, hearty,
tummy warming recipes.
And, I went to the closet to retrieve some fall decorations.
But I left the Halloween
and Thanksgiving boxes stored away for a little while longer.
I took everything off the butlers pantry
and gave myself a clean slate to work with.
Using what I had,
I wanted to create a homey autumn look.
And I loved the way it turned out!
This will definitely be a spot in the house
that I will really enjoy decorating seasonally. :-)
Lastly, I put some fall leaves
on the bookshelves and fireplace mantle
in the library.
There's still plenty more to do,
but I thought today was a great start
for getting our home warm and cozy for fall!
Please head over to The Inspired Room
for much more autumn inspiration and Fall Nesting.
I've visited several sites so far, and have gotten many, many neat ideas!
Thanks so much for visiting me. :-)

ReplyDeleteSo glad you got some rain!
I just love the cups next to the coffee maker. Where ever did you get them? I just changed over my kitchen and dining room hutch from summer to fall as well, and they would make a lovely addition.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day - looks great!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty. Your butler's pantry is such a wonderful piece to decorate. You must have a lot of fun with it.
ReplyDeleteLadybugsmom, the cups came from Anna's Linens on sale for $5. I grabbed the last set of the fall colors. They had several other color combos, too. After I bought them, I saw "stacking cups" everywhere - World Market, Pier One, etc. Evidently they're very popular right now. Hope you find some! :-)
