~for today~
Monday, August 18th

outside my window...
is the lovely state of Wisconsin.

I am thinking...
about breakfast!

I am thankful for...
my husband who always protects and provides
...and keeps me in stitches! :-)

From the kitchen...
nothing until I get home.
I love to travel, but I do miss cooking so much!

I am wearing...
my favorite pink with white polka dots "1950's pajama party" pjs.

I am creating...
a home away from home.

I am going...
to Chicago today.

I am reading...
"Little House Country" by William Anderson.

I am hoping...
we don't miss the hotel free breakfast. ;-)

I am hearing...
my family sleeping.

Around the "house"...
suitcases, wet swimsuits, travel brochures.

One of my favorite things...
seeing our beautiful country.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
enjoy the time of travel and vacation with my family.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

I rarely comment (which is probably rude of me) but I had to say I love your photo! Where did you take it?
Laura was my hero when I was a girl and my DD and I are studying the Prairie Primer this year. I'm not sure who is more excited! ;-)
Safe journey!

Hi Jodie,
The picture was taken in DeSmet South Dakota outside the "Surveyor's House" memorial. If you click on my header you can see more pictures from DeSmet, Walnut Grove and Plum Creek! We are currently on a "little house" road trip. Thank you so much for visiting! :-) We have the Prairie Primer, too!

Mrs. H,
I have enjoyed reading about your vacation, as well as seeing your beautiful pictures. We are so blessed to live in a place where we can travel freely and visit all of these landmarks. Safe journey home.
Blessings,
~Farrah

Your trip seems like so much fun. Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking I may need to take my babes on a Laura Ingalls Wilder tour. Hey, I made your strawberry cream cheese muffins and bragged about them. Thanks for sharing that recipe!
